It's never too late to write a press release and get the news out their about your blog. Here are 5 ways in which writing a press release can help increase traffic to your blog as well as let the world know that your blog exists and is full of great information.
- Increased Traffic
Submitted a press release to the major PR services will result in an increase in traffic directly related to your niche. Thus, the larger the PR site, the more traffic you will receive. However, submitting your press release to a larger PR site will charge a fee. Press releases are seen by journalists and other bloggers within your niche and may send traffic your way.
- Incoming Links
Incoming links for quality sites is essential to success with getting to the top of Google search results. Thus writing a press release with targeted hyperlinks can help boost your rating with search engines. However, don't add too many links in the press release so else the whole process could backfire. Adding one hyperlink for every 100 words is a good formula.
- RSS Subscribers
Many people don't have time to actually visit a website therefore many just read what is their RSS readers. To target this group of people, add your feed information within the press release. This will help to increase your number of subscribers.
- Get Noticed by Search Engines
A press release can rank very well with major search engines such as Google. This is a great way to get your "foot in the door" so to speak. A well written, search optimized press release could potentially rank well enough to end up on the first page of the search results.
- Get Noticed by the Media
Those in the media such as journalist keep up to date on the latest press releases. If your press release interests someone in the media, they may choose to become a subscriber or better yet decide to write a story about your blog. If some of you aren't sure if something like this is possible, rent the movie, "Julie & Julia". This movie is based on a true story about a women who wrote a blog about her journey of learning how to cook by creating all of the recipes in Julia Child's cookbook "The Joy of Cooking." Julie's blog caught the attention of someone in the media which then led to interviews and eventually a book deal. -- Anything is possible.
